Our planning team have been working on an exciting project, as part of the Wai Wanaka Water Project – and in conjunction with local residents, community groups, business owners, iwi, visitors, farmers, scientist, ORC and QLDC – we helped develop a comprehensive Community Catchment Plan (CCP) designed to improve and maintain the long-term environmental health across the whole Upper Clutha Catchment in an integrated way.
The CCP provides an action plan and roadmap for working together for the Upper Clutha’s freshwater. It identifies risks to the health of the catchment and gaps in our understanding. The plan sets out 60 actions to achieve our community’s goals for the catchment sooner rather than later, to ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy our waterways as we do today.
